Through three games this season, the Wills Point Tiger varsity boys’ basketball team holds a 1-2 record as they have defeated Paris North Lamar, 56-40, and lost to North Hopkins, 48-38, and Dallas Life Oak Cliff, 50-45.
The Wills Point Lady Tigers lost to Ferris in the Mabank tournament Nov. 16, 36-17. The top scorers for the Lady Tigers were Allison Kafka with five points and Ahrie Walden, Madison Allen, and Amaya Kennedy with three points each.
The Wills Point Lady Tigers captured a 33-29 victory over North Garland last week in the Mabank Tournament. The top two scorers for the Lady Tigers were Lacey Luna with 13 points and Devani Carrillo with six points.
Leading 20-13 heading into the fourth quarter, the Wills Point Tigers were outscored 14-0 in the final 12 minutes of action Nov. 10 in Plano as they saw their 2023 varsity football season come to a close with a tough 27-20 loss to Van Alstyne in the Class 4A, Division 2 Bi-district football playoff game.
The Wills Point Lady Tigers were well represented on this season’s All-District Volleyball Team. Named to the All-District team were the following Wills Point players: First Team: Hunter Stokes.
All tickets for the Class 4A, Division 2, Bi-district football playoff game between the Wills Point Tigers and Van Alstyne will be sold online, according to Wills Point High School Athletics Secretary Crystal Stephens.
Despite a disappointing 50-21 regular season ending loss at Caddo Mills Nov. 3, the Wills Point Tigers are moving on to their most important phase of their 2023 schedule, the beginning of the Class 4A, Division 2, state football playoffs.
For the first time since 2019, the Wills Point Tigers will be competing in the upcoming Class 4A state playoffs after an exciting 39-29 victory Oct. 27 over the Quinlan Ford Panthers on ‘Senior Night’ in Wills Point.
